Big changes are coming to the Federal Student Financial Aid Form (FAFSA) in 2016: The FAFSA form will now use prior-prior tax year information, and will be available on October 1 rather than January 1. The FAFSA will be easier to file than ever before, and MCAN has made some changes to our College Application Week and College Cash Campaign initiatives to reflect these changes. We’re declaring October Michigan College Month, where high schools can host college application and FAFSA/financial aid drives concurrently, with the goal that by the conclusion of October, every graduating senior has filed their FAFSA, applied to at least one college, and applied for at least one scholarship. The earlier students complete this form the more money they are likely to be awarded.
High schools will have the opportunity to sign up for Michigan College Month or for our traditional College Application Week and College Cash Campaign initiatives.
